Enter the World of the Durbanville GrapeAdd a drop of spring to your step at the annual Seasons of Sauvignon on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th October, 2014. Recognized as one of the country’s top terroirs for quality wines, the Durbanville wine valley will be hosting an array of Nitida Wines and 10 other leading wine producers showcasing their finest cultivars in the celebration of Sauvignon! Renowned for its rolling hills and Mediterranean climate, complimented by the moisture driven coastal mist and cooling southeaster from False Bay on the Indian Ocean, Durbanville wine valley finds itself perfectly positioned for the production of award winning cool-climate wines. “We carefully managed all our sauvignon blanc vineyards by partially opening up the canopy for optimal sun exposure thus guaranteeing healthy grapes, enhancing fruit development during ripening and ensuring a desirable balance of pyroxene (green) and thiols (tropical)” Says Nitida Wines Owner, Bernhard Veller. This year’s Seasons of Sauvignon at Nitida wine farm will be hosted (entrance free) at the family friendly restaurant, Tables@Nitida, which has recently undergone reconstruction and doubled in size. The venue still boasts a natural outdoor amphitheatre, ideal for live concerts and picnics on the lawn, offering ample room for jumping castles and other fun outdoor activities.
